My grandpa was just recently diagnosed with liver cancer! They are going for a second opinion, but unfortunately, so far, they have said that treatment really can not help him!! I spent the better part of my childhood being raised in the same town as my Pa (that's what we call him), and when your young and just living life, you do not (or better yet can not) understand how fortunate you are to have a grandfather in your life!! Now that I'm older and I live SO far away, it has been very difficult for me to deal with all this news!! I love this man and appreciate all he has taught me in life....#1 is family, to him nothing is more important, and the older I've gotten I truly understand and believe in the support of family!!! #2 is honesty...my Pa may be a bit off-colored in his opinions and beliefs, but they are his and he doesn't hide them, nor sugar-coat them for nobody!! #3 is hard work, this man would still work if he wasn't almost 80!!! I can just go on and on about him....but bottom line is, he IS a great man, and I thank god that I am almost 33 and still have 3 of my 4 grandparents in my life!!!! And when god so chooses to take him from us, I will make sure that my kids know him in the same way I did!!! I love you Pa!!!
